The Master Gardener

I was so pleased to finally see a blossom on one of my morning glories yesterday, but didn't actually see it till mid afternoon, so obviously it had faded. This morning there was a fresh one, and I don't think I've ever seen this color before. I tend to look over my plants pretty much every day, though it has been the sunniest summer on record here in the mitten state.

As I walked around the deck checking plants-- observing tomatoes, cucumbers, and flowers-- I noticed the abundance of buds on the morning glory vines. YAHOO!!! I began to feel giddiness from anticipation, not even knowing how long it wil take for this profusion of buds to bloom. Then I started thinking about how I felt, and wondered if it's just a minute fraction of how God feels when He sees us growing and learning, and He knows we're suddenly on the brink of a spiritual explosion of sorts. In our lives, that doesn't necessarily mean a parade of flowers, but very often could be a trial, where our faith and fidelity will shine through. We might not see or smell the blooms in the midst of our struggle, but God does! What a blessing on the Master Gardener when our blooms break forth!
